We don’t teach you anything, the Basque Coast has become a great surfing capital, more and more famous for its numerous spots.
Whatever your level, you will find what you are looking for!
The charms vary according to the cities, the atmospheres also, are different. Feel free to explore, they are waiting for you!
From the city of Anglet in the North to the bay of Hendaye in the South, more than thirty surf spots are available to you!
Don’t hesitate to go for a ride with your van / car or even by bus, you will surely find a peak that will please you.
If you don’t have a board, no problem! There are many rental companies on the roadside or near the spots.
Anglet beaches
- No less than 11 beaches on a distance of 4,5 km!!
- Only beach breaks more or less powerful : rather fast waves on most of the spots.

- Mythical beach of the Basque Coast, elected most beautiful beach in France by Tripadvisor in 2017
- Multi peaks beach break: waves are usually softer North of the bay and on the contrary more powerful towards the South of the beach
- Level : beginner to intermediate – Ideal to start surfing !

ERROMARDIE
- Beach break and reef break
- Level : intermediate on the left side of the beach, experienced on the right. The wave to the left can be considered as a fallback solution in case of strong swell.
- Surfing at mid-tide, or even high tide: beware of rocks at low tide!
Hendaye
- Large bay at the Spanish border.
- Wide beach break with many peaks
- Level : beginner. This beach is ideal to start surfing! The waves are always much smaller than elsewhere.
- Ideal as a fallback solution in case of strong swell.
- Parking all along the bay
- Surfing at all tides.
